another road trip ...

Over the southern summer, I was back in New Zealand and took Lucy out of the museum for a spin ... from the Wairarapa down to Dunedin and back again, via a visit to Karamea. She was perfect the whole way. Back in Wellington I treated her to a full-body massage with her favourite boys, Bob & Glen at Newtown Auto. They gave her a good checking over & some TLC before I delivered her back to Gasoline Heaven. 

The only thing that's bothering me is her rusty bum; I took a screwdriver to it & sure enough, it has gone right through along the edge of the boot lid. It's annoying because I've had rust removed from this area twice in the past ... obviously it's a weak spot. The good folks at the museum are getting a quote for me, for that & a couple of other spots around the rear wheel arches & the front sills (which I've also had repaired before ... indeed, rust never sleeps!!). It's nothing structural but it just doesn't look very nice!
