The Coffee Car

Maybe an electric powered car is not the most green thing to be aiming for; what about a coffee-powered car? Read here about the success of a British coffee car (I wonder if they tried with tea first?) and here's the site of the coffee car itself. Note that the vehicle is powered with USED coffee, so it's recycling as well! And, they've used a car that has a straight 6 cylinder engine - the same as Lucy ... definitely worth looking into!

I am curious to know if you have converted the valiant into an electric vehicle? My girlfriend & I have two valiants in the USA which we would eventually like to see become electric vehicles. How would someone do this anyways? What steps would I have to do to take such a task?
If you have any answers please let me know. Thanks Travis Burns vjzombie@gmail.com

hi travis, sorry i did not reply to you for nearly a year! as you can probably see, this is not a well-maintained blog ;) i am currently living in germany, & my trusty valiant is tucked up in a little car museum in new zealand. so all plans to convert her are on hold. if you look back at earlier posts you will see that i've blogged about some other projects to electrify cars (not valiants though) that have been successful. it is pretty expensive in new zealand as a lot of things e.g. batteries have to be imported, but you might find it is cheaper in the USA, & also as time goes on i think battery technology is improving & becoming more affordable. let me know if you are starting. helen : )
